She’ll perform the National Anthem live from the pitcher’s mound at Oracle Park at Opera at the Ballpark for the San Francisco Opera’s free simulcast of Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet on Saturday, September 21st, 7:30pm. More about Leberta:
Leberta Lorál is a soprano from Seaside, CA. She’s a veteran around the Monterey Peninsula performing at the Monterey Museum of Art and the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, in addition to several performances with the Camerata Singers of Monterey County. In Southern California, she’s performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Hollywood Bowl, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and the Southeast Symphony. She’s also performed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Munich, Germany and Sydney, Australia. In February 2017, Ms. Lorál was a featured soloist in the 20th Annual Conference of the African American Art Song Alliance where she performed the works of composer Richard Thompson and Undine Smith Moore. She’s recorded for “Mask in the Mirror”, based upon the life of American poet Paul Laurence Dunbar which was recently released by Parma Records/Naxos.
Her musical passion ranges from the Baroque to Contemporary, including Bach’s Magnificat and the Mass in B minor to Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem but also includes 20th century compositions such as Vaughan Williams’s The First Nowell, Mabalot’s Songs of Rumi, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel.
