Celebrate the Fourth of July Weekend with KUSC

This weekend we’re celebrating the 4th of July with lots of great American music. Whether you’re BBQing with family, lounging at the beach, or cruising along the coast, KUSC will help you make the most of your long weekend.

On Modern Times (Saturday, 10PM to midnight), you’ll hear John Luther Adams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Become Ocean—the piece that inspired Taylor Swift to make a major donation to the Seattle Symphony.

Then on Sunday, it’s an all-American edition of A Joyful Noise with Brian Lauritzen from 7AM to 9AM, and Baroque performances from the U.S.A. on A Musical Offering from 9AM to 11AM.

Sunday at 9PM, watch fireworks while listening to Jennifer Miller’s The Opera Show. She’s bringing you an hour of music from American composers like George Gershwin, Margaret Bonds and Scott Joplin, performed by American singers like Leontyne Price, Nadine Sierra, and many more.

Happy 4th of July, and thanks for listening!
