Chanticleer Travels the Mission Road
|
May 12, 2008 - Over the course of two weeks from May 15th to May 30th, the multiple Grammy Award-winniing vocal ensemble Chanticleer will celebrate the history of its home state and its own 30th anniversary season when it gives concerts in nine California missions between San Luis Obispo and San Francisco.
Chanticleer's long-standing affection for the missions goes back to its debut in the Mission Dolores in San Francisco. The a cappella group will enjoy a rare opportunity to sing with instrumental accompaniment -- guitar, two violine, cello and harp. They will perform concerts of mission-era music, specifically highlighting our California heritage.
