The for the Bay Area’s best undiscovered classical talent rolls on! Starting April 1, watch the semi-finalists videos and vote for your favorites at kdfc.com. On April 21, the field drops to 3 finalists in the two age groups (10-20;21+). Vote online, and then attend the live Finals event with guest judge and performer Lang Lang on April 28 at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco. The latest.


The Top 30 Under 30

April 7-12, the KDFC spotlight is on the most exciting, promising and glamorous artists on the classical scene – and they’re all under 30 years old. The Prize @ Five that week will be tickets to see the live taping of ‘From the Top’ May 29 in Berkeley, as KDFC and Cal Performances bring the national radio show – and some of the country’s top teenage classical musicians -- to Berkeley. Save School
Music Week

We need your help April 14-18 to give away $15,000 to school music programs across the Bay Area. Each day at about 7:15am and 3:15pm – before and after school -- we’ll ask for a ‘Save School Music Call.’ The 10th caller wins the chance to tell us what school music program will receive a $1,500 donation.


KDFC Music Educator of the Year

On April 21, we’ll kick off our annual campaign to salute and celebrate music instructors making a difference in Bay Area classrooms, schools and communities. It all starts with your simple 200-word nomination essay submitted to www.kdfc.com April 21- May 16.
